ABM first began in Washington, DC.

Formerly owned and operated by R.C. Allen Business Machines of Grand Rapids, MI. R.C. Allen sold their dealerships. Gerald Wittenauer, Sr. (Bud), then Service Manager and Walter Hanson, then Sales Manager, purchased the DC branch. Upon incorporation they changed the name from R.C. Allen to Allen Business Machines, to keep market recognition. They carried a full line of R.C. Allen products, now as an independent dealer.

Below are some photos from our past ...

The Allen Business Machines showroom is attractively paneled in knotty pine with matching display counters which hold a variety of R.C. Allen machines.  The showroom is completely carpeted, is quiet, pleasant and brilliantly lighted.  Mr. Wittenauer is showing Lou Randall some of the sales making features of the R.C. Allen Model 8905 cash register.
